There are hundreds of children in foster care in the Tyler/Smith County community. 50% of our foster children do not graduate high school, and 1 out of 5 will end up homeless after leaving foster care.
We are a Tyler Texas non profit committed to meeting the needs of these children before they transition into adulthood.Currently, there are just over 350 individual chidlren living in foster care within Smith County
The Tyler Smith County Child Welfare Board hopes to provide our local foster children with a bit of "normalcy" that they have not always had the privilege of experiencing. Through our fundraisers, we provide clothing allowances, Christmas gifts, and funds for school related expenses.
Our mission also includes educating the community on the challenges many of these foster children in Smith County face as well as advocate for their protection and safety by partnering with other Tyler Texas non profit programs.
